What changed, season by season
The official patch notes, summarised: what actually changed in each season.
Based on documents published up to Aug 3, 2026
Season 30: Marked
Marked is Season 30, live since August 4, 2026. RP maths and promotion rules are untouched, but the ranked ladder changes shape (five 5-day windows), and the weapon game moves a lot: energy ammo is removed as loot and Corrupted Attachments arrive. Bloodhound gets a ground-up rework, World's Edge a facelift. Matchmaking waits on the results of Season 29's two tests — nothing changes there this season.

Season 29: Overclocked
Overclocked is Season 29, live from May 5, 2026. The RP formula itself stays put; what got touched is seeding and matchmaking, including a fix for players near a tier boundary being placed too low at the season reset. In the match, the headline is a new base rule: reviving a teammate straight out of their deathbox. Six ranked ladders of three days each.

Season 28: Breach
Breach is Season 28, live from February 10, 2026. On the ranked side the change that mattered was a removal, not an addition: Drop Zones, introduced in Season 26, are gone and the drop returns to a single dropship under Jump Master control. In the match, Hardlight Mesh — breakable windows — reshapes building fights, and Fuse is rebuilt from the ground up.

Season 27: Amped
Amped is Season 27, live from November 4, 2025. Ranked leans toward earning: both kill points and the Challenger Bonus go up, and the season runs twelve 3-day ladders — the most of any season here. Pulling the other way, Heat Shields leave core BR, so there is less escaping the ring. Olympus gets a major overhaul.

Season 26: Showdown
Showdown is Season 26, live from August 5, 2025. It is the one season here where the RP formula itself was rewritten number by number: entry cost, kill points, placement points and the Challenger Bonus all moved at once. The drop became an automatic assignment via Drop Zones, and Heat Shields were switched off in Ranked.

Season 25: Prodigy
Prodigy is Season 25, live from May 6, 2025. For ranked it is the season that changed how you are placed when a season opens: on tracked skill rather than on the RP you happened to end with. The ladder system itself is announced here for the first time. Sparrow joins as a new Legend, and Arenas returns as a limited-time mode.
