Season 30: Marked
Season start: Aug 4, 2026
Marked is Season 30, live since August 4, 2026. RP maths and promotion rules are untouched, but the ranked ladder changes shape (five 5-day windows), and the weapon game moves a lot: energy ammo is removed as loot and Corrupted Attachments arrive. Bloodhound gets a ground-up rework, World's Edge a facelift. Matchmaking waits on the results of Season 29's two tests — nothing changes there this season.
At a glance
- Ranked ladders become five 5-day windows (last season: six 3-day ones). The first opens August 11, a week into the season
- Energy ammo is gone as loot — energy weapons now regenerate their own ammo over time
- Five Corrupted Attachments arrive as a new top rarity: big upside, guaranteed downside, one per weapon
- Loot gets leaner: gold attachments and backpacks are cut, hot zones are gone, Arsenals stay off at drop
- Bloodhound is fully reworked around the new Allfather's Cloak ultimate — from all-scan toward ambush and escape
- World's Edge is reworked: Sorting Factory and Construction Stacks return, new POIs arrive

Ranked ladders become five 5-day windows — the first opens August 11
This season runs five ladders from August 11 to September 13. Last season, Overclocked, ran six 3-day windows, Thursday to Sunday — so each window is longer and there are fewer of them. The total-days and gap figures below are our arithmetic on the two patch notes' own date tables.
- Window length: 3 days → 5 days
- Windows: 6 → 5 (total competitive days: 18 → 25)
- Break between windows: 3 days → 1 day
- The first window opens August 11 — a week after the season itself starts on August 4
- Nothing in the notes changes RP maths, promotion or demotion
“Ranked ladders have been extended to 5 days, to allow for more opportunities to compete and increase your standing”What it means if you track your rank
On an RP curve that is five long pushes instead of six short ones, with a single flat day between them. Easier to plan a full window — and costlier to waste one.

Matchmaking is unchanged this season — Season 29's two tests await results
Season 29 ran two matchmaking tests, "1-Tier Premade Restrictions" and "Diamond+ Solo-Queue-Only". Per the notes the data is still being analysed, with results promised in a follow-up blog. Nothing changes in Season 30 itself.
What it means if you track your rank
Read at face value, both tests target the top of the ladder — adopted, either would feed straight into how the Predator cutoff moves. The follow-up blog is the one to watch.

Ranked opens pinned to World's Edge — every lock lands before the first ladder
Ranked is locked to World's Edge for the first 24 hours of the season, and again for 48 hours over the August 8–9 weekend; otherwise the normal 4.5-hour rotation. EA frames it as time to settle into the reworked map.
- From August 4, 24 hours: ranked locked to World's Edge
- August 8–9: another 48-hour lock
- Normal rotation, ranked and pubs: World's Edge / Storm Point / E-District
What it means if you track your rank
Both locks sit before the first ladder on August 11 — by window one, you have walked the reworked map.

World's Edge reworked — Sorting Factory and Construction Stacks are back
The stated aim is evening out the POIs. Frequently requested spots return, others are swapped for new ones, and terrain and ziplines get broad touch-ups.
- Sorting Factory returns, with a new train-tunnel connection and ziplines
- The Construction Stacks buildings return at Fragment West
- Tree Settlement replaces The Tree; War Camp replaces Survey Camp
- Climatizer becomes East Village, with added cover in the open ground and new ziplines to the Dam
- Landslide is merged with Big Maude and rebuilt as a drop spot

Loot gets leaner — gold gear and hot zones are gone
A supply-side overhaul aimed at the "geared by mid-game, flat after" arc. High-tier loot is rarer, and the systems that guaranteed strong gear are cut back. The total amount of loot is unchanged.
- Purple attachments are rarer across every system (amounts unchanged)
- Gold attachments and gold backpacks leave the loot pool (the 4-10x threat scope is exempt)
- Hot zones are removed; box resets lose their mythic and gold boxes
- Arsenals start disabled, activating on the Evo Harvester's timer
- MRVNs are halved, 24 → 12, and become single-use
What it means if you track your rank
The opening fight runs on floor loot alone, and purple goes back to being a find. Vaults, care packages and the Trials matter more for it.

Energy ammo is gone — energy weapons regenerate their own
Energy ammo is removed from the game as loot outright; energy weapons carry a fixed stock that refills over time. EA's own framing: strongest in short fights, at a disadvantage in long ones. The backpack slots come free.
- Stock: Havoc / Nemesis / Devotion hold 3 magazines, the L-STAR 4, Volt / RE-45 / Triple Take 2
- Regen: one magazine per 18 seconds, paused while firing or reloading
- Extended mags grow the stock, not the regen speed
- Wildcard runs looser: one extra magazine of stock, 12-second regen

Corrupted Attachments arrive — every upside carries a cost
Five Corrupted Attachments arrive as a new top rarity. Each trades a big buff for a real stat penalty, and a weapon holds only one. They are rare on the floor; the realistic sources are round-2+ care packages and high-tier spawns like the vaults.
- Overflow Magazine: beyond-purple capacity, slower reloads
- Headseeker Barrel: more headshot damage, worse hipfire
- Tactical Laser: faster reloads, worse recoil control in ADS
- Agile Standard Stock: mobility up, magazine size down
- Rapid Sniper Stock: fire rate up, magazine size down

Bloodhound's full rework — the new Allfather's Cloak ultimate
A ground-up rework for the legend with the lowest pick rate above gold. Allfather's Cloak replaces the signature Beast of the Hunt: a deployed device cloaks whoever enters its radius, allies and enemies alike. The all-scan kit gains tools for ambush and escape.
- +20% move speed and threat vision while cloaked; the area lasts 8s and the cloak holds 12s after leaving it
- Broken by damage, firing, or most abilities — Bloodhound's own don't break it
- Passive: enemies leave a red trail behind them to track
- Tactical: a 3-second full scan, then four snapshot pings at 1.5-second intervals
- White ravens now fly up to 400m and can be triggered by looking at them

Legend balance — Loba and Rampart up; Valkyrie, Axle and Seer down
Two buffs, three nerfs — numbers only, no kit redesigns.
- Loba: tactical fires in 0.4s instead of 0.6s, +15% range and ~30% faster travel; ultimate cooldown 150s → 120s
- Rampart: 70 → 104 move speed on Sheila, wall HP 400/600/800 → 600/700/800, walls place 0.5s faster
- Valkyrie: tactical base damage 25 → 15, missiles clear tall cover less easily; ultimate altitude down 15%
- Axle: slide-boost cap 5s → 3s; her ultimate now affects herself and her allies too
- Seer: the turn-slow on being hit by his tactical is softened

Weapon balance — the 30-30 enters the care package; the close-range SMGs all come down
The G7 Scout and the 30-30 Repeater swap places. The G7 returns to the floor weakened; the 30-30 enters the package much stronger, Shatter Caps included. The over-performing close-range trio — Alternator, RE-45, R-99 — all lose damage.
- 30-30 Repeater (into the package): damage 43 → 51, gains Shatter Caps
- G7 Scout (back on the floor): loses Double Tap, damage 37 → 33, smaller magazines
- Damage: Alternator 19 → 18, RE-45 17 → 16, R-99 13 → 12 — the first two lose magazine size as well
- Hemlok Breach AR: Breach Charge cooldown 25s → 30s, damage 22 → 21
- The gold-weapon rotation is retired — gold is no longer limited to a fixed set of weapons

Jumpmaster volunteering, and weapon stats you can actually read
You can now volunteer as jumpmaster during character select — the flag carries into later matches, and ties are resolved among volunteers. Weapon-stat UI is overhauled, with a new lobby Playground tab to preview attachment effects, and server-stability work is called out explicitly in the notes.
